ProConsultationsoffer you a one-on-one meeting with a literary agent or publisher. Each attendee may schedule up to ten (10) appointments with attending agents and publishers. Requests for appointments that do not conform to guidelines will be returned unscheduled.

This is a terrific opportunity to pitch your completed and polished manuscript to a particular professional regarding their interest in publishing or representing your specific project, as well as an opportunity to make connections, receive constructive criticism and/or professional feedback concerning the viability, marketability, or quality of your idea or work.

Consultation Appointments for Live Meetings

Consultation appointments are designed as an opportunity for question-and-answer discussions with a publishing professional. If needed, you may bring a one-page synopsis to generate greater understanding of your specific project.

  • You must be registered for and pay the conference tuition to participate in a consultation. (All fees may be paid together and submitted with the registration form and appointment request form.) Conference and consultation fees must be received before submission of manuscripts.
  • If editors and agents have additional available time, consultation appointments may be purchased at the conference. Dates and times to be posted at the ProCritique Desk.
  • There are no guarantees that appointments will be available after the registration deadline has passed. Consultations are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Requested professionals are not guaranteed. Consult the biographies of the agents / publishers to determine the best for your work.
  • Do not send advanced copies of manuscripts or a synopsis. You may bring them to your consultation. You may also bring a copy of the first three chapters with a synopsis of the work, should the agent or publisher ask to receive it. Some may prefer a printed copy, some may prefer MS Word Docs or PDFs on a CD. You may have both available.
  • A one-on-one confidential appointment schedule will be available when you check in at the conference. Each appointment may run 10-20 minutes, at the discression of the individual agent or publisher.
