The Hollywood Story
A Live Interactive Workshop with
Art Holcomb

2020 date tba - 10:00 - 3 ± pm

Writers thrive when we open our minds to new challenges and larger communities. Now more than ever do we avoid identifying exclusively as poets or screenwriters, novelists or journalists, bloggers or playwrights, but find ourselves writing in many mediums, across multiple platforms – as STORYTELLERS

Hollywood loves adapting intellectual property and the top publishers love the Hollywood-style cinematic novel, so there’s never been a better time for writers of all stripes to learn about the Hollywood process. And applying the methods behind strong movies and bing-able television to your fiction, you can instantly create sharper dialogue, improved pacing and enduring characters.

If you've dreamed of being a paid writer NOW, then this workshop is for you.

Who Should Attend:
  • Every screenwriter who want to further their careers in Hollywood
  • Established writers with a catalog of unpublished works
  • Any writer who believes that they should be paid for all of their writing

Here are 10 unique writing techniques we’ll explore in this Master’s Workshop:
    1. How to maintain a POSITIVE MINDSET each time you write.
    2. How to develop the HIGH CONCEPT story.
    3. How to develop INSTANT STORY STRUCTURE.
    4. The Secret to the compelling FAST READ – a Key to Success.
    5. The Way to create COMPLEX CHARACTERS - Everytime.
    6. Instant CHARACTER ARCS.
    7. The Art of the DYNAMIC SCENE.
    8. Naturally flowing INTENTIONAL ACTION.
    10. Introduction to FILM RIGHTS for your story.

Writing isn’t just an art, it's a business. So when your novel reads like a movie, your odds of attracting producers and selling the film rights increase exponentially. Some producers are even buying book rights before the novel is finished.

This 4-hour Master’s Workshop will leave you with a better understanding of your own writing as well as reveal techniques that cut through all the confusion of Story.  So forget about the “Saving the Cat” and all the other formulas for writing and give yourself a fundamental understanding of just why Great Stories ALWAYS WORK and what that can mean to you career as a screenwriter!
